Transparency and Accountability in the Business Community

A "Business Ethics Committee" was created from members of the ALCC in order launch a transparency and accountability awareness campaign for the public sector and the business community and establishes a general code of practice that could be adopted by its member companies primarily and eventually by the whole business community in Lebanon. To achieve the purpose Information International was commissioned to perform and carry out the necessary steps and research, whereby focus groups and interviews were conducted with public sector officials and private sector leaders, as well as an intensive desk research. All combined led to the development of a general Code of Practice which is being promoted, and businesses are encouraged to adopt it after pinpointing the positive effects on internal and external operations with the different stakeholders.
